LinkyLink ("the extension") is a browser extension for Google Chrome that removes certain elements from Google Search result pages (such as AI Overviews and ads) to give you a cleaner reading experience.

What data we collect

None. LinkyLink does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data, browsing history, search queries, or any other information about you or your device. No data ever leaves your browser.

What is stored locally

The extension stores two user preferences on your device using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API:

  • enabled – whether the extension is active (true/false)

  • blockAI – whether AI Overviews are hidden (true/false)

This data stays entirely on your device. It is never sent anywhere, and it is automatically deleted if you uninstall the extension.

Permissions

LinkyLink requests the following browser permissions:

  • storage – to save your toggle preferences locally on your device.

  • Access to google.com – to inject CSS that hides the elements you have chosen to remove from search results pages.

No other permissions are requested. The extension cannot read your passwords, access other tabs, or interact with any website other than Google Search.

Third-party services

LinkyLink does not use analytics, advertising networks, crash-reporting services, or any other third-party services. No external requests are made by the extension.

Children's privacy

LinkyLink does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy
